Coronavirus Patients May Get Infected Again After Discharge, Advises Longer Isolation

It has been reported that coronavirus patients have a mortality rate of 2% and many patients are being discharged every day. However, patients who have recovered from the virus can get infected again even after they have been discharged.

According to China Press, a doctor from Beijing Chaoyang Hospital said that patients can experience symptoms again and advises that patients be quarantined for another two weeks after being discharged. Doctor Tong mentioned that in many of the cases, symptoms often show after seven to 14 days after getting infected. This means that it is possible for patients to experience symptoms again after two weeks of being “cured” and therefore, should be kept in isolation even after being discharged. He pointed out that discharged patients often return to society after recovering, which can be dangerous as they might still be infected.
